Our soap kitchen is located at our farmstead on the rocky island of Vinalhaven, in the Penobscot Bay, Maine. Here we grow our gardens, raise our herd of Alpine dairy goats, and here we produce our soaps, which embody much of the essence of our surrounds: the sea salt, the honey, the herbs, and of course the milk, which is a fragile extension of all of these things. Our herd grazes on the wild island grasses and shrubs during their daily walks, and enjoys the sunshine and salt air of our coastal home, nibbling on balsam tips, seaweed, and brambles. Happy goats make wholesome milk, which makes superior soap.
At Green Granite Farm everything is done by hand, from tending and milking the goats, to growing and drying our herbs, to cutting and labeling our soaps with our handmade labels. Our soaps offer an unparalleled bathing experience: your skin will be cleansed, refreshed and moisturized, while your senses welcome the lush and deep scents of pure plant essential oils. Furthermore, our soaps are as gentle on the environment as they are on your skin, and are a safe alternative to commercial soaps and liquid cleansers.
